Abstract: With the growth and development of the world population, and the growing need for mineral resources comes the necessity to rethink the mining industry in the way that concerns the environmental problems that come with it, as well as the necessity to proceed with the rehabilitation of the landscape of the exploited areas. The present work has a main theme Landscape reclamation proposal for an open pit exploitation. The case of the Castromil Gold Mines having as an objective to alert for the consequences that the mining industry causes in the landscape and that it is possible to minimize them through the recovery of those areas. Since that, on a national level, the success cases are rare and one of the objectives of this work is to clarify that there can be good landscape recovery proposals at a national level and that those can bring assets to the exploited sites and its surroundings and, even achieve the implementation of a project that contributes to the sustainable development of the entire region where the exploitation take place. Finally, and with a more particular attention, this work aims to present a landscape rehabilitation proposal to the Castromil Gold mines, located in Paredes.
