Movimentos dentro do olhar: perspectivas sobre a interpretação de Salomé por José Rodrigues

Abstract

This paper gives notice of some stages of the search I have been done, in the scope of the study of the work of the sculptor José Rodrigues, concerning the representations of Salomé in drawing, painting, engraving and sculpture, throughout the time. After analysing works already done on this subject by several authors and supporting my own conclusions on that information, I outline a description of the different interpretations of the theme in different historical moments, and I make a first attempt to identify the peculiar character of the interpretation of this theme by José Rodrigues.
