Refletir para ensinar: A construção da identidade docente em contexto real

Abstract

This School Placement was developed within the scope of the Professional Internship curricular unit, integrated in the second year of the Master's Degree in Physical Education Teaching in Basic and Secondary Education, constituting a requirement for the award of the Master's degree. This document results from the training process carried out throughout the academic year, reflecting on the pedagogical experiences lived in a real teaching context, the challenges inherent to the teaching profession, and the process of constructing a professional identity as a trainee teacher. Throughout the report, the experiences lived during the internship, developed in both regular and vocational education contexts, are analysed, highlighting the challenges associated with the transition to the teaching profession and the process of constructing a professional identity as a trainee teacher. In this sense, fundamental dimensions of pedagogical practice are addressed, namely planning, assessment, the management of the teachinglearning process, the teacher-student relationship and involvement in the educational community, seeking to understand the contribution of these experiences to the development of professional, personal, and reflective competences. Furthermore, the report includes a research component that highlights the importance of teachers adopting a critical and reflective attitude towards their own pedagogical practice, resorting to action research as a means of articulating theory and practice. Within this framework, the study explores the potential of Physical Education, and particularly football, in promoting values such as fair play, cooperation, and respect, seeking to understand how pedagogical intervention may contribute to the development of these dimensions among students
