dc.description	Um dos principais desafios das organizaçõesde investigação agrícola é a necessidadede incorporar nas suas estratégias, práticasinovadoras com vista à sustentabilidade. Nafileira do arroz português observam-se mudançaseconómicas associadas com as preocupaçõesambientais e sociais. Este estudotem por objectivo descrever a dinâmica dasmudanças no Instituto Nacional de InvestigaçãoAgrária - INIA, uma das principais organizaçõesde investigação aplicada à fileirado arroz português. Os resultados indicarama presença de três fases no desenvolvimentoda investigação em arroz no INIA, nomeadamente"o INIA provedor de investigaçãoaplicada ao sistema de produção agrícolado arroz", "o INIA mínimo na investigaçãoaplicada ao sistema de produção agrícola doarroz", "o INIA incentivador da coordenaçãoda fileira e agregação de valor ao arroz". Foipossível identificar distúrbios, regras genéricasorientadoras da investigação, estratégiasde investigação e factores externos a cadauma destas fases.Palavras-chave: Arroz, evolução, investigação
dc.description.abstract	One of the main challenges to agro researchorganizations is the need to incorporateinnovative strategies considering sustainability.On Portuguese rice chain it is noticeableeconomic changes associated with social andenvironmental concerns. This study aims todescribe the dynamic of the changes at theNational Institute of Agro Research (INIA)-Portugal, one of the most important organizationsin this area. The results indicate thepresence of three main stages on the developmentof the research at INIA, namely "INIAleader of the applied research of agro productionof rice", "INIA reduced role on appliedresearch of agro production of rice", "INIApromoter of chain organization and additionof value to rice".
