Abstract

Loss allocation in distribution networks remains nowadaysan open problem of considerable importance, especially in acompetitive energy market environment. This paper proposes amethodology for the distribution of network losses among theloads. The process is based on the knowledge of load profilesand on the usual consumption measures. Simulation ofrepresentative HV, MV and LV networks has been carried outto obtain a portrait of the typical loss intervals. The losses areallocated to consumers according to the network level, theachieved typical values and the representative diagrams of eachtype of consumer. The allocation criterion is establishedassuming a distribution proportional to the squared power.Illustration results support the feasibility of the proposedmethodology
