Investigação em psicoterapia: o exemplo da Terapia Centrada no Cliente

Abstract

The author analyzes historically the main variables and the most consensual results of the client-centered psychotherapy. In addition, he analyzes coherency between the new psychotherapy research proposals and the main postulates of clientcentered psychotherapy. Basically, the author concludes both that this type of psychotherapy is very well empirically supported and that new ways are emerging allowing a more accordance between psychotherapy research methodological requirements and experiential psychotherapies postulates, as client-centered psychotherapy is an example.
