Os bens da Igreja de S. João de Castelo de Vide à morte de Frei João Balieiro

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to describe the assets of the church of Saint John in Castelo de Vide, owned by the Order of the Hospital and inventoried after the death of João Balieiro, who was the church's proprietor. At the time, and because of the relationship between the monarchy and the Order, King João III took possession of the church, through Afonso Vasques, his proxy and main collector of the Priorate of Crato. This situation is related to the process to place the Priorate under royal tutelage.
