Taking as a point of departure Clarice Lispector's work Um Sopro de Vida, this article reflects on the constitution of the modern subject in the literary area. The work which is analysed thus allows us some considerations on the mechanisms of literary creation and of the processes of the production of meaning. The emergence of the subject in the text is studied taking into account its essential pulverization, thereby taking a path which accompanies the destruction of the sole subject, his constitution as a duality and, in the final instance, as a plurality.pt_PT
