Title: | As elites do quotidiano : Don DeLillo e a política da escrita em Mao II |
Publisher: | Porto : Universidade do Porto. Faculdade de Letras |
Issue Date: | 1998 |
Abstract: | This paper, taking as a starting point Don DeLillo's contextualization in contemporary American literature, focuses on the everyday life of urban America and its impact on changing modes of writing. In the concrete case of Mao II, DeLillo's conception of the writer and of his art are taken into consideration, in order to analyse the new elites of terrorism, fundamentalism and technology, as well as the relationships between writers and terrorists, between the politics of power and the politics of writing. |
