| Title: | Development of a vision system for vibration analysis |
| Issue Date: | 2007 |
| Abstract: | : Recent progress in image acquisition and analysis systems opened the door to theapplication in structural vibration monitoring. The proposed system is targeted to operatetogether with traditional vibration monitoring systems providing additional valued informationor to operate in situations were the number of points to analyze would be impossible or costlywith the existing systems. Ambient vibration and forced vibration subjects are analyzed togetherproviding means for correlation of the structure vibration itself with its sources. This paperdescribes the major characteristics of the developed vision system and exemplifies the majoradvantages and drawbacks based on the presented applications concerning cable vibrations in acable-stayed bridge and other kinds of bridges. |
