Abstract: Urban space is constantly being changed, namely on the way people live it and experience it, as a result especially of changes and variability of people relations with a larger and polycentric city. The changes on consumer’s behavior and the way retail adapt to new forms and functions, creating (or recreating) places of consume, is cause and consequence of a zapping for different spaces, at different times of the day, month or year, on different connections between space and time. In the city of Porto, the street of Santa Catarina, is used as an example for an approach to the way relations between space and time occur, and it is noted that people use it as a destiny or part of a route and see it as nonfunctional, with a specialization on retail and especially dedicated to middle-age women on a 10 to 19 o'clock time period.
