Abstract

Football is the sport most practiced in Portugal, and the practitioners are mostly children and young people with the ambition of one day reaching as far as possible in their career in this sport. This document entitled "The importance of the formation of football in children and young people" is an internship report that aims to present the work done during a sporting season (2017/2018) at the Associação Juvenil - Escola de Futebol Hernâni Gonçalves (AJEFHG), the level of under-12 echelon (Infants B), and reflect on all the experience, knowledge acquired and reality experienced by trainee coach. The report covers different interconnected themes, as the football game is not just about the game, but a series of important details for its operation. Therefore, in a first moment we will deal with themes such as sport in children and young people having as main focus the soccer of and in the training, and in a second moment, reflect on the importance of the socializing agents that invest in it (training school, coach / teacher and parents / family). Based on this work, the lived experience and through some studies have found that the agents of socialization are the most valuable part in what concerns the practice of football in children and young people, it is they who provide conditions so that stakeholders have and / or pursue a sports career in this modality or who only have a regularly active life through this same means of exercising.
