"A crescer com cada aula" Desafios, erros e aprendizagens de um estagiário

Abstract

This report describes the author's journey as a trainee teacher, within the scope of the Professional Internship Course Unit of the 2nd year of the Master's Degree in Physical Education Teaching in Primary and Secondary Education, at the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto. The internship provided an opportunity to gain insight into the teaching profession, offering experience of working in a real school environment. This experience was supervised by a faculty advisor, a cooperating teacher and an Internship Group composed of four students. This document aims to describe and reflect on this stage of continuous training, highlighting the main challenges, lessons learned and the professional and personal development of the intern. It begins with a personal description, expectations regarding the internship and a description of the host institution. It then discusses some concepts inherent to Physical Education, analyses them and describes the method of action adopted. Finally, the action research project is presented, which focused on the analysis of pedagogical strategies used to promote student motivation and engagement in athletics teaching in Physical Education. The study, conducted with a 10th grade class, provided an understanding of how different methodological approaches can enhance students' interest and involvement in the practice of the sport, while also considering the limitations imposed by school infrastructure. This journey showed that teaching involves countless challenges, but also demonstrated that, through dedication, resilience and critical reflection, it is possible to achieve significant improvements in the teaching-learning process, contributing to the consolidation of the future teacher's professional identity.
