À Procura de uma "Simbiosofia" - Identidade, na Era Planetária, Através das Artes Visuais

Abstract

This internship report reflects on an educational proposal centred on Art as a driver of a more holistic, empathetic, and diverse form of education. Drawing inspiration from the concept of Symbiosophy, as proposed by Edgar Morin, it embraces the need for a relational and interdependent awareness between human beings and the world around them, promoting an ecological and integrative view of knowledge. In this context, empathy is regarded as an essential skill for fostering fairer and more supportive human relationships, encouraged through artistic practices that invite listening, sharing, and the welcoming of difference. Following the thoughts of Elliot Eisner and Joseph Beuys, the importance of the arts is acknowledged not merely as a means of expression, but as a vehicle for shaping thought, sensitivity, and citizenship. Art thus emerges as a space for creating meaning and reconstructing identity, particularly in light of Zygmunt Bauman's warnings about the fluidity and fragility of contemporary identities. Through the school project, embedded in the subject "Art Workshop", the aim is to create educational experiences in which Art helps to develop individuals who are more aware, empathetic, and equipped to face the complexity of the modern world.
