A mulher (não) desenhada - Percursos de criação, escuta e afirmação no ensino das artes visuais

Abstract

This internship report is part of the Master's Degree in Teaching Visual Arts in the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education and in High Education at the University of Porto, and results from a training process developed throughout the 2024/2025 school year, at Escola Secundária José Falcão, in Coimbra. Structured in three main chapters, the report articulates the observation experience, the construction and implementation of a didactic proposal, and the monitoring of the artistic work developed by students within the subject of Desenho A, under the guidance of the cooperating teacher. The pedagogical proposal created had as its starting point the unease felt regarding the invisibility of women in art history and the absence of diverse artistic references in the students' discourses and practices. The question "What does it mean to be a woman artist?" served as a conceptual axis for the development of activities focused on listening, graphic experimentation, and the construction of a critical and aesthetic awareness. The proposal incorporated moments of observational drawing and free creation, analysis of works by women artists, and culminated in a final exhibition entitled A mulher não... A mulher sim!!, conceived and assembled with the works produced by the students. The report also discusses the role of the physical and symbolic space of the school in the educational process, reflecting on the importance of memory, participation, and artistic creation as forms of pedagogical mediation. The methodologies used, the assessment criteria shared with the cooperating teacher, as well as the challenges and learnings that emerged throughout the process, are analysed. The report concludes with a reflection on the author's personal and professional growth, reaffirming a commitment to a critical, inclusive, and diversitysensitive arts education.
