Habitar a arquitetura: o caso do Castanheiro do Vento no contexto dos recintos murados calcolíticos

Abstract

: This text aims to address the multiple relationships and rhythms that emerge in (and through) architecture, understood as part of the practice of dwelling. In this sense, it will highlight the walled enclosure of Castanheiro do Vento (Horta do Douro, V.N. de Foz Côa) and the immersion of building practices in everyday life, i.e., it will analyse the different relationships between the site and the life of the communities and their territories as well as how construction occurred mainly during the "use" or inhabitation of the enclosure. The study of the detail of the architecture at Castanheiro do Vento points to seasonal and cyclical time, probably celebrated, accentuated and formalised through intentional depositional practices, and to different rhythms and duration of architecture - from slow construction that takes time to the rapid deposition of things. Through this line of enquiry, it will be asked how objects and things acquire different configurations according to their networks of relationships, correspondences, and the specific places where they are found. Thus, it intends to study the relationship between design and inhabitants, and the flow of things, of human and of non-human beings, in movement, in order to approach Castanheiro do Vento as living architecture
