In a scenario where there is rapid evolution in health data integration, ensuring the integrity, security, and traceability of the code is crucial. This paper addresses the development of a "Code Version Control Module" specifically designed for health data integration engines, with a particular focus on systems such as NextGen Connect, also known as Mirth Connect. The goal of the module is to meet the critical need for robust version control in health environments, ensuring seamless collaboration, regulatory compliance, and the ability to adapt to the dynamic requirements of health data. This comprehensive exploration begins with an overview of the essential role that health data integration engines play and the challenges they face in managing code changes. Drawing from the state of the art in version control systems, we explore the advantages of Git as the foundation for our module. The main objective of this thesis is the development of the Code Version Control Module. Step by step, we guide readers through the process of implementing Git-based version control. Real-world case studies highlight the benefits of adopting this module, illustrating how it simplifies code management and enhances collaboration among health integration teams.
