Terre promise, pays perdu? Approches de Désorientale de Négar Djavadi

Abstract

Of Iranian origin, screenwriter and director, Négar Djavadi published, in 2016, Désorientale, her first novel, distinguished, the same year, by the Prix de L'Autre Monde and the Prix du Style, and, in 2017 by the Prix Emmanuel Roblès, the Prix Première, the Prix Littéraire de la Porte Dorée and the Novel News Prize. By means of a first-person narrative, this promising entry into literature erects a whole universe that interweaves various histories and temporalities: on the one hand, the history of Iran in the 20th century, the history of the Iranian family 's exile - the Sadr - and, on the other hand, the daily experience and over time, of Kimiâ Sadr, the narrator, prey to her (re)construction of identity, already announced in the title of the work. Our approach to the novel Désorientale will focus on the issues that emerge from displacement, exile or wandering, and from liminalities to be resolved that are beyond a national inscription.
