| Abstract: | The main objective of this dissertation is to carry out an architectural project exercise aimed at intervening in the Ponte d'Ave Molinological Complex, located in Bagunte and Macieira da Maia, This complex consists in a group of mollinological and agriculture buildings, which functioned in unison in order to guarantee the good functioning of the molinological complex and the activities carried out. These buildings stand as an architectural and landscape testimony of a way of life increasingly less present and in disuse. In order to understand the relevance of the intervention in this complex and similar structures, there was in-depth research into the territorial framework, historical, economic and social aspects and construction processes that inherently contributed to its interpretative analysis. Thus, a transdisciplinary and critical reading of this complex was sought by combining means of architectural surveys, carried out by the author, with territorial, landscape, archival and historiographical interpretations. This theoretical analysis, described throughout the text, proved to be essential for understanding the complex and for the realisation of the project. Issues such as culture, pedagogy, infrastructure and energy production are prominent topics in the design exercise carried out. These questions, combined with a critical analysis of various examples of mollinological and agricultural interventions, described throughout the document, have allowe for the realisation of a conscious intervention proposal that guarantees the maintenance and adaptability of the Mollinological Complex today and in the future, so that it keeps pace with natural human evolution and does not fall into disuse again. Thus, this dissertation aims to demonstrate and frame the reader in the mollinological theme, making known the benefits that the rehabilitation of these structures may have in the emerging problems of the present time, in order to preserve the heritage. |
| Description: | A presente dissertação tem como principal objetivo a realização de um exercício de projeto de arquitetura que visa a intervenção no Complexo Molinológico de Ponte d'Ave, situado em Bagunte e Macieira da Maia, Vila do Conde, nas margens do Rio Ave. Este complexo é composto por um conjunto de edificações de cariz molinológico e agrícola, que funcionava em uníssono, de modo a garantir o bom funcionamento do complexo molinológico e das atividades realizadas. Estas construções apresentam-se como um testemunho arquitetónico e paisagístico de um modo de vida cada vez menos presente e em desuso. De modo a entender a pertinência da intervenção neste complexo e em estruturas similares, realizou-se uma investigação profunda sobre enquadramento territorial, aspetos históricos, económico-sociais e processos construtivos que inerentemente contribuíram para a sua análise interpretativa. Deste modo procurou-se uma leitura transdisciplinar e crítica deste conjunto, cruzando meios de levantamento arquitetónico, realizado pela autora, e a interpretação territorial, paisagística, arquivística e historiográfica. Esta análise teórica, descrita ao longo do corpo de texto, demonstrou-se imprescindível para o conhecimento do complexo e para a realização da proposta de intervenção. Questões como a cultura, pedagodia, infraestrutura e produção energética são tópicos de destaque no exercício projetual realizado. Estas as indagações, aliadas a uma análise crítica de vários exemplos de intervenções molinológicas e agrícolas, descritas ao longo do documento, permitiram a realização de uma proposta de intervenção consciente e que garanta a manutenção e a adaptabilidade do Complexo Molinológico hoje e no futuro, de modo a que o mesmo acompanhe a natural evolução humana e não volte a cair em desuso. Assim, a presente dissertação pretende demonstrar e enquadrar o leitor na temática molinológica, dando a conhecer os benefícios que a reabilitação destas estruturas poderão ter nas problemáticas emergentes dos tempo atuais, visando a preservação do património. |
