O Casulo Cimbiótico - Por Uma Arquitectura Interventiva

Abstract

The contemporary architecture of today is deeply marked by new technologies, based on the phenomenon of digital information. Cemented to a culture characterized by communication, made through social networks and new interfaces, which expresses the change in our notion of interaction. These changes also imply new architectural challenges. The architecture as a discipline, now faces the challenge of these developments, emerging the idea of an interactive architecture, which simultaneously expresses the ideas of an augmented reality, multisensory, multidimensional. The new ways of social life can be supported by new spaces which possess the ability to be both physical and digital, and especially interactive and mutable when appropriated by man. In this sense, it is of best interest to promote more communicative buildings, in terms of relationship between man and matter built. The dissertation "Symbiotic Cocoon: For an Interactive Architecture", is inspired and reflects on this possible architectural paradigm shift, which includes changes not only in the construction but in the new ways of inhabiting. Defends the possibility of an interaction in the architecture that stimulates the highest number of senses, in order to achieve communication with the architectural space. The development of this work was linked to the multidisciplinary project PP99, which have investigated and used various materials and systems, to explore the idea of interactive architectural spaces and surfaces, thereby materializing the exposed concept. This opens the possibility of what we call the "Symbiotic Cocoon", the multi-functional shelter, which appealing to technology, interacts with Men in a creative and meaningful way.
