Análise da evolução de dois eixos estruturantes da Póvoa de Varzim

Abstract

The research and discussion conducted in the final proof of licensing under the theme "The importance of the sea front as public space - Analysis of the evolution of marginal of Povoa de Varzim" was an important starting point for work on public space that I were assigned to develop when I joined the Division of Studies and Projects of the Municipality of Povoa de Varzim. The theme of the thesis I propose to, focus on the continuity of research work carried out under the final proof of licensing, the passage from theoretical research done on the urban evolution of Povoa de Varzim, for the projectual component and intervention in two areas of the City to requalify. One point that remains open since the final proof was the relationship between the marginal of Povoa de Varzim and an avenue perpendicular to that one - avenue Mousinho de Albuquerque. With 750m long and torn at the beginning of the twentieth century to link the sea front to the main Town Square - Largo das Dores. Once I was assigned, by the autarchy, to study the redevelopment of the avenue Mousinho de Albuquerque and Largo das Dores and construction of an underground car park, was followed by an analysis of these areas, developing the overall concept of intervention, preparation of tender (in implementation and operation of the underground car park) and finally monitoring the implementation of the work. Eight years after the research and analysis done on the urban development of the sea front of Povoa de Varzim, I propose, for the master's thesis, the widening of the intervention area to an adjacent zone, a remake of an issue now on different point of view, with the presentation of a project-level intervention. It will be an objective, the reflection on the common's/divergent's points to all plans and projects that have been developed, now, also, in terms of who has designed for these spaces.
