PRÉ-FABRICAÇÃO: entre a redescoberta e a memória na CONSTRUÇÃO do futuro

Abstract

This dissertation arises from a personal interest and curiosity about prefabrication, especially for its more technical aspect. The current conditions of our society lead to a rising interest on this matter, making it ever more relevant the study of prefabricated construction methods, as a way of dealing with the several problems, from the climate change, to the housing problem. This work comes to light inder the purpose of reviewing some of the most importante figures, experiences and episodes of the use of prefabrication. However, the purpose of this work is not to be merely an historic and literary review, with a only na analytical character. With this in mind, the aquired knowledge is finished of in a chapter where it is intended to understand and highlight the potencial of new materials and in what way the knowledge of these techniques of prefabrication can contribute to its re-equation in the light of the needs of today, namely of dry construction, as is the case for CLT, inquiring possibilities of conceiving new constrction systems and, therefore, new architectures.
