Do Possível. Férias em Sambade

Abstract

The opportunity and wish to think of my family's vacation home came up. Since it is such a personal theme and I live closely with the regular inhabitants of this house, the process ended up incorporating the family itself, resulting in an informed foundation for the architecture design. What is this house? What has this house been? Who uses it? How do they inhabit it? In order to find answers for these questions, research was done using several tools: interviews with the occupants, gathering of archive documents (such as photographs, texts and drawings) regular visits to the site and photographic and videographic recording of these stages. This first part corresponds to the first chapter of this dissertation, levantamentos (Surveys). Following the analysis of these elements with as much depth as possible, the resulting data was organized and shaped into a plan. The drawing portion of the work built certainties by way of questioning what had been thought and researched and, thus, we reached a fair design, sufficient and necessary which responds to the main premise: this is a house which allows for the extension of the vacation moment, yet is still conscious of its particularity and an untroubled continuum. This second part corresponds to the second chapter of this dissertation, organização e desenhos (Organization and Design). Besides the chapters which aim to make as clear as possible the decisions that informed the project, the dissertation creates breathing moments with the presenting of several photographs, destined to provide the reader with context of the house, its inhabitants and the moments it allows for.
