| Abstract: | School education is fundamental in the lives of children and young people, and therefore, in Portugal, basic education is required and free of charge. The covid-19 pandemic (between 2020 and 2022) has changed the form of the educational processes, with the existence of remote emergency education, forcing children to attend classes from home - "schools closed, but education did not stop" (CNE, 2021). The purpose of this research is to understand the impacts that the pandemic may have caused in the educational processes in the first grade of elementary school, in the local context of Ancede, in the county of Baião, located in the district of Porto. For this purpose, three research questions were explored in order to understand the changes in teachers' personal organization due to the lockdown; the implications of the pandemic in the return to face-to-face teaching and the main lessons that teachers have learned from this period. The sample - constituted by convenience - was composed of three teachers from school E. B. 1 of Eiriz-Ancede. The chosen method was the qualitative methodology, and semi-structured interviews were carried out via zoom. The results indicate that, effectively, the change of processes imposed by online teaching was complex due to all the constraints caused by the adaptations to a nonpresence education, aggravated by internet failures. The data highlights the "double" role of the parents who, on one hand, supported their children in this modality, while at the same time (often) interfering in the learning processes by giving - themselves - the answers to the questions. The students were motivated by the return to face-to-face teaching, however, and according to the teachers, aspects of their autonomy do not seem to have been too much developed. In general, the teachers appreciate teaching in Ancede and feel connected to their environment. All participants affirmed that online teaching worked because there was really no other way, although they highlighted the lack of recognition for their work. |
| Description: | A educação escolar é fundamental na vida das crianças e jovens, sendo, por isso, em Portugal o ensino básico obrigatório e gratuito. A pandemia covid-19 (entre 2020 e 2022), veio modificar a forma dos processos educativos, passando a existir o ensino remoto de emergência, obrigando as crianças a assistir às aulas a partir de casa - "as escolas fecharam, mas a educação não parou" (CNE, 2021). A presente investigação pretende compreender os impactos que a pandemia poderá ter causado nos processos educativos no 1ºciclo do ensino básico, à luz do contexto local de Ancede, no concelho de Baião, situado no distrito do Porto. Para isso, foram exploradas três questões de investigação de modo a perceber as alterações ao nível da organização pessoal dos professores devido ao confinamento; as implicações da pandemia no regresso ao ensino presencial e as principais aprendizagens que os professores retiraram deste período. A amostra - constituída por conveniência - foi composta por três professores/as da Escola E. B. 1 de Eiriz-Ancede. O método escolhido foi a metodologia qualitativa, sendo realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas, via zoom. Os resultados apontam que, efetivamente, a alteração de processos impostos pelo ensino à distância foi complexa devido a todos os constrangimentos causados pelas adaptações a um ensino não presencial, agudizadas pelas falhas de internet. Os dados destacam o "duplo" papel dos encarregados de educação que, por um lado, apoiaram os seus filhos nesta modalidade, ao mesmo tempo que (muitas vezes), interferiam nos processos de aprendizagem ao darem - eles próprios - as respostas às questões. Os alunos mostraram-se motivados pelo regresso ao ensino presencial, no entanto, e de acordo com os/as professores/as, aspetos da sua autonomia não parecem ter sido muito desenvolvidos. De um modo geral, os/as professores/as apreciam lecionar em Ancede e sentem-se ligados ao meio. Todos os participantes afirmam que o ensino à distância funcionou porque não haveria mesmo outra forma, ainda que tenham destacado a falta de reconhecimento pelo seu trabalho. |
