| Title: | Pragmática histórica e construção histórica do discurso: análise de alguns aspetos do funcionamento textual-discursivo do português medieval |

| Abstract: | In medieval textual analysis (which concerns the study of textual and discursive structures) it is important to take into account historical pragmatics since this broadens the horizons for the analysis of texts from the past. The present study aims to examine some specific linguistic aspects of medieval Portuguese. First, it looks at the use of discursive connectors and their semantic and pragmatic derivations, then it moves on to the evolution of the system of locative deixis in Portuguese. This involves discussing its chronology, with the analysis of some examples of lexical innovation; this has been observed in texts belonging to different discursive traditions in which the origin of new word use is evident. Some formal and functional divergence of connectors of use has been noted within the evolution of different types of text, which suggests that this evolution depends on specific contexts and on text typology. With regard to the analysis of locative deixis, it becomes clear that in the medieval period the system evolved from a binary to a ternary structure. The present analysis contributes to the establishment of parameters for the evolution of connectors in different discursive traditions, thus relating historical evolution to the typology of texts and their history. |
| Description: | Na análise de textos medievais orientada para o estudo da estrutura textual- -discursiva, é importante a análise pragmática histórica, porque abre amplas perspetivas à análise de textos do passado. Este artigo pretende expor a análise de alguns aspetos linguísticos específicos do português medieval, nomeadamente o uso dos conectores discursivos e as suas derivas semânticas e pragmáticas, a evolução do sistema da dêixis espacial do português, precisando a cronologia da sua evolução, e a análise de alguns casos de inovação lexical em português, observados em textos de diferentes tradições discursivas em que a génese da utilização da palavra é evidente. Analisa-se a divergência formal e funcional de alguns conectores em textos de diferente tipologia, sugerindo que a génese de novos usos poderá estar intrinsecamente ligada à ocorrência numa tradição discursiva em particular. No estudo da dêixis espacial, a distribuição das formas no português medieval revela um sistema binário que evolui para uma estabilização da oposição ternária a partir da deslocação de morfemas anafóricos e identificativos. Esta análise contribui para o estabelecimento de padrões de evolução em diferentes tradições discursivas, o que sugere a relação entre a evolução linguística e a tipologia dos textos e a sua história. |
