ENDS e HTPs: uma Revisão de Consciencialização e Impacto para a Saúde

Abstract

The tobacco epidemic is among the top health concerns in the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that each year more than 8 million people are killed by direct smoking and an additional 1.2 million person-years can be associated with secondhand smoke. At this time, ENDS and HTPs appear on the market as new alternatives to the traditional ones. These 2 products represent a new challenge for the scientific community, as there is still a lack of relevant information to characterize these 2 products. This work results from exhaustive bibliographic research on ENDS and HTPs, giving particular interest to their impact on human health and the current awareness of both products. To deliver out this work, carried out between September and October 2019, an exhaustive bibliographic search was accomplished through the Pubmed search engine, and based on articles published on the last 5 years related to the impact and awareness of ENDS and HTPs.
