| Abstract: | The present Master dissertation integrates a study about the intervention in the preexisting, namelly, the theme of ruin in the work of Eduardo Souto de Moura. This dissertation is divided in three moments: The Theme, The Author and The case study. It's intended to understand the role that preexistences play in the architect's work and how they're assumed in his projects. It's the ruin, as an operative element of project, that aims to understand. This study focuses on the analysis of works signed by Eduardo Souto de Moura in order to interpret the various approaches and project strategies adopted towards the ruin. To understand his work process it's necessary an understanding about the relation between architecture, place and nature and it's essential to interpret the theme of ruin in his work. |
| Description: | A presente dissertação integra um estudo sobre a intervenção no preexistente, nomeadamente, o tema da ruína na obra de Eduardo Souto de Moura. A dissertação divide-se em três momentos: O Tema, O Autor e O Estudo de casos. Pretende-se perceber o papel que as preexistências possuem na obra do arquiteto e de que forma as assume nos projetos. É a ruína, enquanto elemento operativo de projeto, que se objetiva compreender. Este estudo incide na análise de obras construídas de Eduardo Souto de Moura com o intuito de interpretar as diversas abordagens e estratégias de projeto adotadas perante a ruína. Para a compreensão da sua prática de projeto é necessário o entendimento sobre a relação da arquitetura com o lugar e a natureza e é, ainda, essencial para interpretar a problemática da ruína na sua obra. |
