dc.description	A presente dissertação objetiva salientar a urgente necessidade de intervenção nas Ilhas do Porto, onde persistem condições insalubres de habitabilidade. As Ilhas foram caídas no esquecimento durante anos e sobre as quais o discurso defendido foi sempre a sua erradicação. Na atualidade manifesta-se um novo pensamento sobre as mesmas, agora a sua extinção já não faz parte da solução mas sim a sua regeneração. Deste modo, ao apreender a problemática habitacional que permanece e ao analisar os diferentes pensamentos que surgiram até à atualidade, procura-se um futuro para uma Ilha na Rua de Vera Cruz em Bonfim (nº 23A), e um novo pensamento do que poderá ser o futuro das ilhas espalhadas na cidade. Um projeto construído através da memória que ali persiste e além da memória, delineando novos usos e modos de habitar para esta Ilha, de modo a integrar este espaço na sociedade atual.
dc.description.abstract	This dissertation aims to highlight the urgent need for intervention in the "ilhas" of Porto, where unhealthy living conditions persist. The "Ilhas" have fallen into oblivion for years and on which the speech has always been their eradication. Nowadays a new thought as been developed about them, now their extintion is no longer part of the solution, but their regeneration. Thus, by grasping the remaining housing problems and analysing the different thoughts that have emerged until now, we search a future for one "Ilha" in Rua de Vera Cruz in Bonfim (number 23A) and new thought of what might be the future of the "Ilhas" scattered by the city. A design built through memory that persists and beyond memory, outlining new uses and ways of habitation in this "Ilha", to integrate this space in today's society.
