Abstract

The meeting between tourism and the city designs a new area of studies. This intersection produces different processes. Firstly, the dialectic conversion from the place "city" in the place "destination"; which defines imaginaries and expectation, that in turn, readapt the city under new logics. We proceeded with the observation of a specific place undergoing this transformation, trying to include every single one. The result is the creation of an exhaustive work with the objective of creating an "demonstration effect". This tries to create and organize a collection of interpretations that contribute to the understanding of the different processes taking place in the conversion from "city" to "destination".
