Devemos competir? - O concurso em arquitectura

Abstract

In the final straight of the academic course and the start of a career, this paper takes the opportunity to ponder the realization of architectural competitions in the context of our work. The study of this dissertation corresponds to the architectural project and the professional practice in the context of the architecture competition. Within this framework, this job intends to study the methodological, operational, procedural framework inherent in the architectural competition. The interest in managing the dissertation on architectural competitions relates to the opportunity of reflection that has been worked in an academic and professional career but also the proximity of the opportunity to real practice, through the interviews. This project doesn't intend to be a finished study of the theme of the contests, but understanding that the project contest is a deeply speculative, experimental basis, research and development. Thus, we assume the possibility of contests act as an intersection between the evolution of practice and research through the architectural nature.
