Ensino da construção na FAUP. Análise e síntese 1984/85 a 2012/13

Abstract

The present work aims to be a contribution for the reflection concerning the teaching of Construction at Architecture School, University of Porto. Underpinned on the curricula structure and on interviews made to different lecturers, an effort is made towards the understanding of the evolution, dynamic and questions that emerge from the specific subject of Construction. The study intends to be an approximation to the reality of the school in itself: a space open to observation and reflection regarding the pedagogical path of the subject. The main concern is consequently to ingrate it in the vast universe to which it belongs. Thus, a particular attention is given to the interaction between two important subjects: Construction and Project, since the latter represents and sums the entire structure of the teaching of Architecture. The analysis proposed here confirms that "(...) there is an inner logic in construction that represents the unique dimension which allows us to discuss it in an objective way. The only possible architecture speech is that of the construction, leaving any other possible speech in the field of imprecision and subjectivity."*
