| Abstract: | "Conception diary" is a descriptive notebook of the conception process of a single family dwelling in a rural context. It brings together in an organized manner all the information of the project development, showing all the steps and highlights that influenced the architectonic decisions. The debate around the issue of a domestic program is again under discussion. In rural areas, the way how local housing are designed, most of the times without a proper analysis, betrays an absence of space organization and a lack of clear information about contemporary life. Thus, we observe the stagnation which has been breaking the efficacious and adjusted architectonic development to this environment. The first chapter deals with the topic of housing in Portugal, where the History of Architecture since the beginning of the 20 Century is exposed, seeking to understand how the problem of the house evolved. This analysis ends up in the problem of the house of nowadays. Throughout this study was understandable the lack of theoretical basis for contemporary housing in rural areas and therefore the chapter is closed, leaving a question: what is the meaning of designing a house located in that environment nowadays? The answer comes up with the practical experience. Beginning with a project of a house that will be build is, for a student, a task of great responsibility, taking into account that the knowledge of implementation and intervention in the reality will be tested. Thus, it was necessary to arrange assumptions and ideas, aiming to design according to a consistent and appropriate attitude. The second chapter, "Project Notebooks", reports the concerns about the dwelling conception, especially for the creative freedom the challenge involves, equating also the continuous relationship between client and architect. The confrontation with the various constrains, that gave the project characteristics, was doubtless the greatest challenge. The final solution, which tried to solve, circumvent and integrate these aspects, reveals a rewarding job. |
| Description: | "Diário de Concepção" é um caderno descritivo do processo de projecto de uma habitação unifamiliar em contexto rural. Reúne de forma organizada toda a informação que englobou o desenvolvimento do projecto, passando por todas as fases e evidencia temas relevantes que influenciaram as decisões arquitectónicas tomadas. O debate em torno do problema do programa doméstico encontra-se de novo em discussão. No meio rural, a forma como foram e são projectadas as habitações locais, a maior parte das vezes sem recorrer a um estudo adequado, denuncia uma evidente ausência de organização dos espaços e uma falta de informação sobre aspectos da vida contemporânea. Observa-se, assim, uma estagnação que tem vindo a impedir uma evolução arquitectónica eficaz e ajustada a este meio. O primeiro capítulo trata o tema da habitação em Portugal onde é abordado o percurso da arquitectura desde o início do século XX, procurando-se compreender de que forma o problema da casa evoluiu. A partir desta análise reflecte-se acerca do problema concreto da habitação na actualidade. Ao longo do estudo foi perceptível a escassa base teórica sobre a habitação contemporânea no meio rural e, por isso, encerra-se o capítulo com uma inquietação sobre essa questão: o que significa projectar, hoje em dia, uma casa nesse contexto? A resposta surge sob forma de uma experiência prática. Iniciar o projecto de uma casa que irá ser construída é, para um estudante, tarefa de enorme responsabilidade, tendo em conta que serão colocados à prova os seus conhecimentos de execução e intervenção na realidade. Assim, foi necessário organizar premissas e ideias com o objectivo de projectar segundo uma atitude coerente e adequada. O segundo capítulo, "Cadernos de Projecto", relata as preocupações sobre a concepção de uma habitação, principalmente pela liberdade criativa que o desafio implica, equacionando igualmente a relação contínua entre dono da obra e arquitecto. O confronto com as várias condicionantes, que atribuíram ao projecto as características que este exibe, foi, sem dúvida, o maior desafio. A solução final, que procurou resolver, manobrar e integrar esses aspectos, revela um trabalho gratificante. |
