| Title: | Uma dupla direcção da escrita em Daniel Defoe : The Father Adventures of Robinson Crusoe, ou, alguns bons ensinamentos da má literatura |
| Issue Date: | 2013-01-23 |
| Abstract: | With the help of some concepts developed by T. S. Eliot and George Lukacs on the subject of the evaluation of a work of art, the A. argues that the aesthetic failure in The Farther Adventures... is the result of a predominance of ideological patterns over creative imagination. This interpretation intends to provide a basis for a better appraisal of Defoe's major works, as well as for a further evaluation of that author's role in the context of the wider question of the rise of the novel. |
