Title: Quem foi o autor de A compleat account?
Issue Date: 2014-01-30
Abstract: There has been little research in Portugal on the history of foreign language teaching. However, among the interesting things which have already been studied is «A Compleat Account», the earliest Portuguese-English, English-Portuguese dictionary, published in, London in 1701, and whose author is known only by the initials A.J.. This article attempts to disprove the hypothesis advanced by the British Library that these initials might correspond to Alexander Justice.
