DIG[ANA] Fountain: A Intervenção Artística como Presença Regeneradora de Elementos Arquitectónicos Desactivados

Abstract

Increasingly there are sites or architectural elements that lose their function or become obsolete. How can the cultural intervention re-invent these spaces and give them a new function or ability? This is the main issue that orients this dissertation. This dissertation starts with a theoretical approach of concepts such as ready-made, site-specific, performance and/or happening. After this approach this dissertation focuses on a project called DIG[ANA] Fountain, inserted in The Fountain Project started at FuturePlaces Festival, which aims to create artistic interventions in a fountain on the lobby of The Creative Industries Center of The Science and Technology Park of University of Porto in a way that those interventions may become a physical and tangible business card to its visitors.
