Para uma comparação das protagonistas de «Mutter Courage und ihre Kinder» de Bertolt Brecht e de «Frau Flinz» de Helmut Baierl

Abstract

After having placed Baierl's play in the dramatic-theatrical context of the GDR and having considered the controversial reception of Brecht's work in that country, the A. examines «Frau Flinzs. as a result of the productive reception of «Mutter Courage*. The article concludes that the protagonist of Baierl's work is, according to social realism, a positive heroine; however she lacks the dimension of the Brechtian figure. On the level of exterior communi- cation there is, in «Frau Flinz», no place for a critical spectator, as had been the case in the hypotext.
