| Abstract: | This master thesis, A Arquitetura entre as Artes: Reflexões sobre a Beleza Arquitetónica1, reflects on the concept of Architecture as an art and the kind of relations it establishes with other arts, particularly with Sculpture and Painting. As nowadays there has been emerging a massive quantity buildings with exaggerated sculptural expression and, then, sculptures exploring the experience of space and the human body movement, what are the essences of these arts? What do they have in common and what distinguishes them? Can Architecture become true Scultpture? Which lessons can we take from these kind of sculptures? In response to these questions, the concept of beauty becomes central to our approach, being the fairest way in the interpretation and creation of Architecture. This way, it is necessary to understand the architectural beauty and its phenomenology. |
| Description: | Na presente Dissertação de Mestrado, A Arquitetura entre as Artes: Reflexões sobre a Beleza Arquitetónica, propõe-se uma reflexão sobre a definição de Arquitetura enquanto arte e as relações que estabelece com outras artes, em particular com a Escultura e a Pintura. Numa época em que surgem em massa edifícios de exagerada expressão escultórica e esculturas que conquistam a experiência do espaço, outrora reservada à Arquitetura, qual a verdadeira essência destas artes? O que têm em comum e o que as distingue? Pode a Arquitetura tornar-se escultura? Que lições tiramos das esculturas que se exprimem através da caracterização do espaço? Em resposta a estas questões, o conceito de beleza torna-se fulcral na nossa abordagem, revelando-se o justo meio de apreciar e criar arquitetura. Assim, é necessário entender a beleza da Arquitetura e a respetiva fenomenologia sobre a qual se exprime. |
