A propósito de morfemas contrastivos em português : um «mas» de excepção/provocação

Abstract

The A. attempts to demonstrate that the conjunction mas (but) brings about a logical conjunction and also adds a number of pieces of information either from an already existing expectation of a given regularity, or from something which, being the exception to a rule, requires the revision of that rule. In certain constructions with mas the exception and the rule itself are transmitted; this represents an even greater addition of information.
