Praia Norte. Redesenhar um limite.

Abstract

The will of designing to my city of Viana do Castelo determined the theme´s choice, as a last chance to do an academic project, perhaps a bit utopian, without the complications of a project for a real client, proposing the rehabilitation of a site that means a lot to me - Praia Norte. The approach to the subject begins with a quick and objective description of the beach´s surrounding area - Litoral Vianense. A second moment is the Analysis of the beach through the research and study of the history, the limits, the appropriation, the unbuilt projects for the site, user opinions and references. As the review is done, the important information is gathered to develop a Strategy for rehabilitation crossing parameters such as reconfiguration, reorganization, reprogramming and environmental concerns. The fourth chapter is referred to as the Process developed to prepare the Design as a way to achieve the parameters listed on the previous strategy. This project is a possible response to the suggested site, a rehabilitation of the beach, with the purpose of developing a proposal that responds to the problematic of an area like this, where an intense relationship between the natural and the urban takes place.
