| Abstract: | In This dissertation is approached the issue of an architectural intervention in rural areas through the development of a proposal for the conversion of a pre-existing building. The proposal for an intervention is based on a previous study, embryonic, intended as analysis in order to provide a time and theoretical frame for the issue in question. In this approach, the application of the project has an interpretive potential, so as to give greater clarity over the problems found in interventions of this nature, by stating hem. Based on the practice (proposal) and a subsequent reflection it is intended to create a narrative which allows for different ways of intervening in architectural heritage. The process relies on a theoretical and practical methodology with simultaneous and complementary practices, based on a tree-phased structure: preliminary research (theory), proposal (practice) and reflection (theoretical and practical). It also underlines as issues/topics to be addressed: How to use ruins/pre-existing structures? ; What should be kept and/or removed?, How the new program fits with pre-existing structures and areas?, Or How to combine materials and construction techniques from different periods? On these issues/ topics this study aims to formulate responses based on issues that help structuring and clarifying the design and interventional process of this nature. So this study is focused on the theoretical and practical development of previously selected issues/topics, specific to this type of intervention. |
| Description: | Esta dissertação aborda a problemática da intervenção arquitetónica no meio rural através do desenvolvimento de uma proposta de transformação de um edifício preexistente. A proposta de intervenção tem como base um prévio estudo, embrionário, de modo a analisar e enquadrar temporalmente e teoricamente o tema em reflexão. Nesta abordagem (prévia), o exercício do projeto surge como potencial interpretativo, por forma a dar uma maior clareza aos problemas presentes em intervenções desta natureza, enunciando-os. A partir da prática (proposta) e uma posterior reflexão pretende-se a criação de uma narrativa que permita a abordagem às diferentes formas de intervir no património arquitetónico. O processo apoia-se numa metodologia teórico-prática com realizações simultâneas e complementares, acente numa estrutura dividida em três fases: investigação prévia (teoria), proposta (prática) e reflexão (teórico-prática). Destacam-se, ainda, como temas-questões a tratar: Como usar a ruína/preexistência?; O que se deve manter e/ou retirar?; De que forma o novo programa se adapta às estrutura e espaços preexistentes?; ou ,Como fazer a conjugação / adaptação de materiais e sistemas construtivos de diferentes épocas?. Acerca destes temas-questões propõe-se enunciar respostas tendo como base temáticas que auxiliem a estruturação e a clarificação do processo projetual em intervenções desta natureza. O trabalho centrou-se na exploração teórico-prática dos temas-questões selecionados, específicos a intervenções desta natureza. |
