| Abstract: | The current Master's dissertation aims to study Fernando Lanhas's architecture based on the analisys of five of his works: Edifício Bastos Xavier (ca. 1957), Casa Lanhas (ca. 1959), Casa Tato (ca. 1974), Museu Militar do Porto (ca. 1977), and Prédio Dias Lopes (ca. 1956). In order to comprehend his architectural production, the current work is divided in five fundamental sections. Contextualizing first, the Man and his Work, scattered by various fields to fully comprehend their reflections on his projects. Adressing afterwards his Architecture, enplacing it at a precise time and space. Within it lies the analisys of the selected works.Followed through a synthesis that presents his architectural work's cross characteristics so that, ultimately we relate them with the listing of works fulfilled at the begining. The purport is, studying and comprehending project's options, focusing essential matters, establishing a basis - hitherto absent - for Fernando Lanhas's Architecture's study. |
| Description: | A presente dissertação de mestrado pretende estudar a arquitetura de Fernando Lanhas com base na analise de cinco obras: Edifício Bastos Xavier (1957), Casa Lanhas (1959), Casa Tato (1974), Museu Militar do Porto (1977) e Prédio Dias Lopes (1956). Com o intuito de compreender a sua produção arquitetónica, o trabalho divide-se em cinco segmentos fundamentais. Primeiro contextualizamos o Homem e a sua Obra, dispersa por várias áreas, para perceber como se refletem nos seus projetos. Debruçamo-nos depois sobre a sua Arquitetura, inserindo-a no tempo e no espaço. Dentro desta temos a análise das obras escolhidas. Em seguida temos uma síntese que apresenta as caraterísticas transversais a todo o seu trabalho arquitetónico para, por fim as relacionarmos com a listagem de obras realizada inicialmente. O objetivo é, assim, estudar e compreender as opções de projeto, focando os pontos essenciais, procurando estabelecer uma base - até aqui inexistente - para o estudo da Arquitetura de Fernando Lanhas. |
