Lenbachhaus, a caixa dourada na Kunstareal de Munique

Ab S T r A c T This thesis discusses and studies the Museum of Modern and Comporany Art, with more focus on the Lenbachhaus museum, in Munich, located in the art area, surrounded by museums of great historical interest. Such location took an important role. The painter Lenbach, an admirer of Classic Arts, decided to install his residence and studio, the future Lenbachhaus museum, in a setting surrounded by museums of Ancient Arts. Thus, two of those museums are also study objects, the Glyptothek and the Alte Pinakothek, both designed by Klenze and that had an impact on the World History of museology.
