Abstract

While creating an idea, as during the development of a project, several factors will influence the process. The same will happen while experiencing a building. The perception of space is conditioned by external events to the user, but also by the past he experienced. These two different moments, production and experimentation, beyond having in common personal or external influences, also influence each other. All spatial experiences lived in the past, good or bad, consciously or unconsciously, arise at the moment of creation. On the other hand, the way the project is thought through and designed will have a major role in how people, who experience the built work, perceive that space. And in its turn, if the visitor is an architect, this experience will influence future creations. While understanding the factors that are behind the mental process of creation and experimentation, it might be possible for the architect to control his personal impulses, as well as the movements and sensations of the future inhabitant.
