dc.description.abstractA rapid manufacturing process of ceramic components with shapes closed to thefinal ones is described. The process is based on a sol gel processing, low cost rawmaterials, and adequate sintering conditions. A significant improvement of theceramic components chemical resistance to continuous contact with meltedaluminium alloys is obtained when an alumina flame sprayed coating is depositedon their surface.
