The issue of outlining Intertemporal Law elicited different solution's viewpoints, carried out by jurisprudence and having natural influence on legislators. The impact of classical thought on the issue of the succession in time of Conflict of Laws is embodied, in the current Portuguese Law System, in a frame which reflects a choice made over the background of that controversy's scheme. As a result of a viewpoint chosen in the context of the aforesaid controversy about the nature of such conflicts' rules, the Portuguese Law outlined its regime of succession in time of those rules according, in our opinion, to the general rules of Portuguese Intertemporal Law. And the connection of the Portuguese solution to the classic controversy is easily understandable, particularly given the fact that such legal regime dates back from the sixties of the last century, with no further changes since then.pt_PT
