Uma sumária radiografia da política comum das pescas da União Europeia

Abstract

This study is a synthetic and essentially descriptive approach of the Common Fisheries Policy of the European Union, in its present form and with notes on some topics of its foreseeable future design. We use a legal-political approach, privileging a descriptive penchant; nevertheless, and because the above said policy has been shrouded in controversy, some references are made to certain criticisms which have been addressed to it, as well as some valuations on debated points. The study begins by dealing with generic aspects, namely the rationale, the objectives and the importance of the common fisheries policy. It follows, with prominent focus on its resources component and on its structural component, an analysis of this policy’s content. A final assessment serves as a general closure to the elements thus exposed.
