Envelhecimento demográfico : percursos e contextos de investigação na Sociologia Portuguesa

Abstract

This issue of Revista Sociologia devotes a section to the general topic of demographic ageing. The relevance of this topic and the challenges it brought for both the Portuguese society and Portuguese scholars is the triggering element for the compilation of papers that are presented in this issue of the journal. This first introductory paper aims at setting the background for the rest of the contributions and provides a snapshot of the main trends in sociological analysis in Portugal on the topic of ageing.
