Para uma análise do tema electricidade na revista da Associação dos Engenheiros Civis Portugueses : (1870-1945)

Abstract

Electricity has been, since its appearance in the second half of the 19th century, object of journalism and news. Few were the journals in Portugal which dedicated exclusive attention to the subject. It was in scientific journals by socio-professional associations that the matter of electricity achieved greater exposure. In this group, the Journal of the Association of Portuguese Civil Engineers, founded and first published in 1870, was a prime contribution and played a vital role in this task. As an object of media reporting, electricity has produced information considered to be of interest to the History of Energy. Based on the abovementioned journal, between 1870 and 1945, this article intends to address the following topics: identify publications about electricity; analyze these same releases; demonstrate their potential and contributions to the history of national electricity.
