Abstract

In this paper, we will present new statistic elements about English importation of Portuguese salt during the first half of the 18th century, using information from customs’ documents picked in Public Record Office (London). It’s known the importance of Oporto’s British community. Therefore, we will focus some of the figures involved in salt trade to English ports.
