Abstract

The founding of Royal Oporto Wine Company was surrounded with many issues that have been the object of research from many historians of Port Wine during the last two decades. One of these issues is regards the English plea against the prerogatives granted to this Institution for the creation and regulation of one of the oldest demarcated regions of the world, which recently celebrated 250 years of existence, and that it attempt to explain in this paper.
